Starting on an exciting journey through the difficult landscape of professional bull riding, American cowboy Sage Kimzey has not only dominated the PBR circuits but also won the esteemed title of three-time world champion in the Championship Bull Riding (CBR) organization, which is no longer in existence. Beyond the arena, rodeo is in his blood. His father Ted, a former PRCA barrel man and a well-known figure at the 1980 and 1987 National Finals Rodeo (NFR).

Though every hero has obstacles in life, the rodeo world was eager to hear from the 7X World Bull Riding Champion’s family when he was recently forced to miss work due to an injury. A fan inquired about his wife’s steadfast support, delving into her fair opinion. What was encouraging was that the reaction had a great sense of humor!

Bull-riding legend gets surprise shoutout from wife

For the last three years, Kimzey and his longtime partner, Alexis Bloomer, have been blissfully married. In addition to being a very devoted wife, Alexis is known for her success as an award-winning journalist, businesswoman, and host. But when Sage had an accident that required surgery in August, the family faced a difficult period. Inquiring about her husband, Bloomer’s Q&A session with her Instagram followers got a question: “Do you like that your husband rides bulls.”

Answering the question, Bloomer wrote, “I don’t think I really know any different. I like that he chases his dreams without an caution. It makes me want to do the same.” She also added young Sage’s photo as background: And wrote, “**appreciate this retro pic of @sagekimzey. We were talking when this picture was taken.” While she’s not the only one who gushes over her partner in the relationship.

Seen at a PBR-sponsored event, Kimzey made his debut at UTB and posted an Instagram video of his amazing ride on the bull ‘Gangster’. While a fan of his also shared Sage’s performance in the video captioned,  “Making the 8 on his UTB debut.” Just as expected, Sage defeated Gangster with ease in the first round, earning the best score of the match and propelling himself to the top of the event standings. Being a bold player in the dirt ground, the man also shows his soft side to the world!

Man with a golden heart

The bull rider from Central Texas also happens to have a generous heart. A while back, he generously donated a vest with a rich rodeo history to benefit a worthy cause. The beloved vest, which he wore during his winning run at the National Finals Rodeo, has been offered up for sale by the champion. The money raised was given to help West Bradley, a 3-year-old from Corinth, Mississippi, for his acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment costs.

When Kaitlin and Will, West’s parents, saw the gift, they broke down in tears. Kaitlin said, “We all just cried when we opened the mail.” “For someone like Sage to do something like that just means a lot.” West proudly wears the vest, which represents victory in the world of rodeo and embodies both Kimzey’s kindness and the tenacious spirit of the rodeo community.
